As a new company, Med-Health had
the advantage of being able to deploy
the bar coding system without having
to replace any existing infrastructure

Hames says. “The deployment was

“The pharmaceutical industry is
very competitive, and the margins are

Med-Health has been able to utilize bar
code scanning and printing to create a
return on investment on its entire SAP
ERP solution by maintaining an accurate inventory and by minimizing shipping and receiving errors.”
“Once you know the bar code is

mistakes,” Hames adds. “We’re confident that our orders are correct,
and we have full traceability within
the warehouse.”
The bar coding system has been
deployed in both the pharmaceutical
and medical supply warehouses, and
will also be used in the repackaging
facility later in 2008.
“We’re going to take advantage of
the experience we gained in the first
two facilities when we go live with the
repackaging facility,” Hames says. “We
expect that system to perform just as
well or better.” ■
